An Object Portrait of Mr. Jordan

This scarf from the Red Light Bar in Amsterdam, a port I called home for months while working on cruise ships, evokes countless stories of debauchery, camaraderie, and questionable life choices.

My sister gifted me this bottle of hot sauce, and she’s really cool; I really like spicy food and it reminds me of my time in Buffalo, NY. (Go Bills.)

This elegant glass was a gift from my grandmother, and I love collecting drinkware; this is my go-to aperitif/digestif glass — it just feels perfectly quaint and refined.

This skull mug was my first tiki one; it marks my torrid love affair with all things rum and matches my personal taste in designing and consuming cocktails — a little dark, a little kitschy, and a lot of fun.

The pin emblazoned with 666 represents the opening lyrics of a song by Buffalo hardcore band Every Time I Die, titled “Buffalo 666” — “Despite what you think, I can offer you nothing. I’m seasick, and strung out, and tired of adjusting.” The ETIDiots, as my metalhead group is known, are a wonderful bunch of well-loved fellow humans with whom I have enjoyed many a mosh pit, beer, party, and much kinship. The big ring was a gift while shooting a music video for another of their songs, and to be there I skipped my last day of classes sophomore year of college; it was my first time naked on camera.
