An Object Portrait of Ms. Kirsten Li
- The most important token is my gold handcuff necklace. I’ve worn a version of one nearly every day since I entered the fetish scene (16 years ago). It’s the piece most representative of me.
- The Loubs were my 30th bday gift — my favorite thing in the world are high heels.
- My long relationship to designing and fabricating latex are represented here by my first rose and a bralette.
- A receipt from my grandfather’s purchase of a sewing machine for my paternal grandmother, later my first.
- I love vintage brooches and cocktail rings and included are some favorites.
- The perfume bottle has been my signature scent for 20 years, the first perfume gifted from my teenage boyfriend. I have no plans of changing it and hopefully it’s never discontinued.
- The Jaguar pin is a recent gift from my partner.
- The pill case and compact belonged to my maternal grandmother.
- The castle is from my first trip to Disney World, one of my favorite places. I saved up for it as a child so it was very meaningful to me.
- Maleficent is my favorite character. Her eyeshadow is a well loved part of my makeup collection.
- The red cat was a gift and it represents luck in business; it also represents my Chinese heritage.
- I collect spoons when traveling and the 100th in my collection is represented here, a gift from Andi.
- The Snorlax plush was a gift from my brother. He’s my spirit animal/Pokémon.
