Astrology is the oldest and longest-running of the divinations gathered here — reading fortune not in a cup or a card but in the sky itself, the position of sun, moon, and planets at the moment of a question, or a birth.
I kept my own instruments close for this one: a planisphere for finding what’s overhead on any given night, and the precision tools of a trade that likes its measurements exact even when its conclusions are anything but.
