Tasseography

Tasseography reads the leftovers: the dregs of tea leaves or coffee grounds, swirled and drained to a pattern on the inside of the cup, interpreted by their shape and position much the way another diviner might read a palm.

The kettle here is still warm, the leaves not yet swirled — a reading caught in the moment just before it’s asked.
