Lips

September gathered a small vanity of reds — a palette of lip colors, a scatter of lip pencils, an antique denture mold standing in as a wry little memento mori, a chocolate truffle for good measure.

The color found its mouth soon enough, applied with the same unhurried care as everything else that month, mid-motion and unposed.
